Together, We Make It Work

Nicholas Rheubottom is a strategic leader dedicated to building a stronger, more inclusive Edmonton through economic development, social innovation, and urban policy. As Founder and Principal of 4Sight Advisory, he works with businesses, non-profits, and community organizations to navigate growth, secure funding, and develop strategic solutions. As a consultant, recent projects have included an Indigenous-led affordable housing initiative, two surplus school site proposals aimed at creating seniors housing, and grant funding support for a startup aimed at providing employment initiatives for Indigenous job seekers in Alberta, reflecting his commitment to economic accessibility and innovation.

Alongside his work at 4Sight, Nicholas previously served as Executive Director of the Alberta 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce, where he led efforts to strengthen business networks, advocate for inclusive policies, and expand funding access for underrepresented entrepreneurs. Before that, he was Executive Director of the Infill Development in Edmonton Association (IDEA), having earlier co-chaired its Policy Committee, where he advanced zoning reforms, urban planning initiatives, and sustainable city-building strategies.

Beyond economic and urban policy, Nicholas is deeply involved in technology-driven social innovation. He is developing an AI-powered tool to support diversified procurement in construction, providing developers with recommendations for Indigenous trades and consultants to empower Indigenous-led housing initiatives. He is also in the funding stage for a pilot project, co-developed with colleagues in the housing sector, to expand funding access for non-profits working in affordable housing, helping address systemic barriers to financing community-driven projects.

Nicholas serves on the board of the Edmonton Pride Seniors Group, offering advisory support for an inclusive housing project for 2SLGBTQI+ seniors. His broader commitment to inclusive community development extends into his advocacy for the arts as a driver of economic and cultural vibrancy. A strong believer in the role of arts and culture in shaping cities, he recently joined the board of Choral Canada and sings with Chronos Vocal Ensemble. His academic background, which includes an MA in Musicology from the University of Alberta, has shaped his ability to drive tangible change in economic growth and community development through the arts sector.

In his free time, he can be found exploring Edmonton's urban green spaces with his husband, Stuart, and their dog, Rogue.
